Healthy Skin Care Tips

 Today I’d like to share some practical tips you can use to be sure your skin is the healthiest it can be. Are you ready?

1. Do whatever it takes to see that your skin gets the sun protection it needs to stay safe from skin cancer and avoid premature aging and wrinkles. Not only should you apply sunscreen with SPF protection, also consider wearing a hat, sunglasses or special clothing to protect your skin from sun damage.

2. Keep yourself properly hydrated. This one comes up all the time because it is so important – drink plenty of water to keep yourself and your skin healthy.

3. Use moisturizer to keep your skin soft, supple and hydrated. Quality lotions and creams will work in conjunction with the water you drink to give you skin that fresh glow and keep dryness and flaking at bay.

4. Get your beauty sleep! It’s true – we really do need rest to regenerate. Don’t believe me? Just look in the mirror after a restless night.

5. Exercise and be active – not only does proper activity make for better sleep (see number 4) it also helps keep your body’s circulation running smoothly. Your skin will not look its healthiest when your system is not operating the way it should.

6. Facial cleansing should be done on a regular basis. Generally first thing in the morning and at the end of the day. Never turn in for the night without removing makeup and pore-clogging dirt.

7. Choose skin care products that work for you, not necessarily the ones your friends and neighbors use. We’re all different and our skin is no exception. Find products designed for your skin type and the particular issues you have right now. And, don’t be afraid to change your products as needed. Often skin changes with the weather and of course, as we age. Your routine should change as well.
